All community sport participants, parents/guardians of participants, coaches, spectators, officials, volunteers and sporting organisations must play a role to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
COVID-19 CLUB protocols & return to rugby
The impact of COVID-19 resulted in the suspension of all rugby activities from March. From this time, our priority has been to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our Wanderers community and to undertake to do everything we can to slow the spread of COVID-19 in line with Public Health Orders. With the rate of of infection greatly reduced, we cautiously reintroduced rugby in a staged approach from June 1st with further easing of restrictions from mid-August. Our Return to Rugby Guidelines offer sound, best practice advice on how to keep our players, volunteers and match officials safe during the transition back to rugby, including parameters surrounding the types of activities which can occur, facility usage and how to conduct training and Game Day safely. We continue to regularly update our Safety Plan ensuring we are keeping up with current Public Health Orders and Best Practice standards. Wanderers has implemented measures to ensure we are mitigating risk and protecting the health and safety of our Club participants. As fever is one of the first recognisable symptoms of coronavirus, onsite temperature checks using Temporal Artery thermometers (infrared sensors to non-invasively measure core temperature from the temporal artery in the forehead) may be used. We invite all participants at Wanderers and/or their guardians to read through our documents which explain the protocols we are required to implement during this pandemic. All participants will be required to abide by these precautions and protocols, anyone deliberately not complying will be asked to leave the premises immediately and may be removed from the Club for the remainder of the season. |
If you have any questions please email the Club: [email protected] These documents, protocols and their content have been prepared for Wanderers RFC. Our COVID Safety Plans & COVID Manual are available to view through the 1Breadcrumb App. |
