Accelerated development program - ADP
& WIDER TRAINING SQUAD - WTS
Wanderers Rugby ADP was the pioneering program in Newcastle developed in 2012 to build better rugby players and better people for the community. It is a truly unique, holistic and advanced rugby development program designed to expose participants to the latest world rugby techniques and tactics, specialised positional coaching, statistical analysis, life skills and specific training camps in order to promote the accelerated development of players on and off the field.
The program runs twice a week for 8 weeks through the off-season to take our juniors to the next level and create a seamless transition into senior rugby.
The program also involves an educational component on correct preparation and maintaining health while training at a professional level. The 'life skills' component brings in reputable figures from our community to up-skill the players and educate them to be stand up Novocastrians.
Wanderers Rugby Academy has developed young talent and provided them with the work ethic, pathway and support to move on to bigger things in rugby. It's a proven system with several of our young players moving on to pursue rugby in some of the country's capital cities, others have gone on to bigger and better things:
