Laurie Williams joined Wanderers in 1944 as “Water Boy” for his father George who was Wanderers First Aid Attendant. When his father retired in 1952 Laurie became the official First Aid Attendant for Wanderers, a position he still held when this trophy was donated in 2000. This award was established in his name and is awarded to the person who has “put in” for the Club all season.

In memory of Angus Hedges, a Junior Wanderer who passed away in 2016. This trophy is awarded to the player who best displays our Club values and ethos and has made the most significant contribution to the Club both on and off the field. This player isn't necessarily the best rugby player on the field but his or her contribution to the Wanderers Club has been outstanding. This Junior has not only displayed good sportsmanship but has gone over and above their call of duty for the season by giving their time to rugby and to the Club.

BOOT OUT BREAST CANCER TROPHY (JUNIORS)
An annual charity match played between Wanderers and Merewether Carlton Under 14s teams.
This match raises awareness for the work done by the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation in supporting local families impacted by breast cancer. This challenge trophy commenced in 2014 with the launch of the Boot Out Breast Cancer campaign and was embraced by both Clubs in honour of the mums from both teams enduring breast cancer treatment at the time.
“Boys, today is pink sock day. It is a significant day. It is a day where we have the privilege of wearing pink; and in a small way, an opportunity for us to share in the battle against breast cancer.
Every one of us will at some point in time have a family member or know someone or a family, directly affected by this disease. These people have shown amazing courage and strength in their battle to overcome. We play for them today.
We have the privilege of sharing in their battle by wearing our pink socks today. Wear them with pride. Playing at your best, playing with courage; will bring honour to those who are in the fight of their lives.
Leave nothing on the field today boys, make Boot Out Breast Cancer one to remember.”
